As L.A. Capital's Chairman, Tom is responsible for setting the firm's strategic goals and developing the firm's research, portfolio management, trading, administrative and client service resources. Tom is also an integral member of the firm's portfolio management team. Prior to co-founding L.A. Capital, Tom was a senior managing director and principal at Wilshire Associates. He joined Wilshire in 1980 and for six years directed its Equity Division, overseeing the delivery of the Equity and Index Fund Management Services and working on a retainer basis with over 120 investment organizations. In 1986, he assumed responsibility for Wilshire Asset Management and for the next 16 years headed that division.
Prior to joining Wilshire, Tom worked for the National Bank of Detroit as a portfolio manager and was primarily responsible for major pension fund client relationships.

As Chief Investment Officer, Hal oversees the firm's investment process and works closely with the Director of Research to enhance all elements of the stock selection, portfolio construction, and trading process. Prior to co-founding L.A. Capital, Hal was a managing director and principal at Wilshire Associates. Hal joined the consulting division of Wilshire Associates in 1989 where he served as a senior consultant to large ERISA plans. He also designed the Wilshire Compass, Wilshire's asset allocation and manager optimization technology for plan sponsors. In 1996 Hal began consulting to Wilshire Asset Management where he helped develop Los Angeles Capital Management's Dynamic Alpha Model and other quantitative long/short applications for Wilshire Asset Management. In 1998, he joined Wilshire Asset Management as the Chief Investment Officer.
Prior to joining Wilshire, Hal was Vice President with Mellon Bank where he was responsible for the design and management of Mellon's portfolio analysis product for plan sponsors.

As Director of Research, Dave is a key member of the firm's portfolio management team and is responsible for the development and management of Los Angeles Capital Management's Dynamic Alpha Model, the firm's proprietary stock selection model. Dave initially designed the Dynamic Alpha Model in 1996 after nineteen years of quantitative equity management experience. Prior to co-founding L.A. Capital, Dave was a managing director and principal at Wilshire Associates. During his years as Wilshire Asset Management's Director of Research, Dave developed both Wilshire's Style Metric model and one of the industry's first style based portfolio management products. Dave and Tom have worked closely together in both product development and asset management for twenty-five years.
Prior to joining Wilshire, Dave was head of Quantitative Investment Methods and manager of the Equity Index Fund for the Trust Division at the National Bank of Detroit. He also taught Investments and Portfolio Management in the MBA program at the University of Detroit.

As Director of Trading, Stuart manages all equity trading activity and is a key member of the portfolio management team. He is responsible for the design and implementation of efficient, low cost program trading strategies and rigorous post trade evaluation analyses. Prior to co-founding L.A. Capital, Stuart was a vice president and principal at Wilshire Associates where he also served as Wilshire Asset Management's Director of Trading. Stuart has worked closely with Tom and/or Dave since 1987.
Before joining the Asset Management Division, Stuart spent four years as a consultant in Wilshire's Equity Management Services Division assisting institutional and corporate clientele in the development of customized solutions to equity portfolio management problems.

As Director of Global Equities, Mr. Allen is responsible for developing global equity applications for clients and is a member of the portfolio management team and the firm's Investment Committee. Mr. Allen works with clients on managing their portfolios and assisting in setting the strategic direction for the firm internationally.
Prior to joining L.A. Capital, Mr. Allen was a Senior Managing Director and Board member of Wilshire Associates. For more than two decades, Mr. Allen held senior positions at Wilshire. Mr. Allen began in the Equity Management Division and worked with several members of the L.A. Capital team. Mr. Allen assisted 100+ institutional money managers in applying risk models, performance attribution and portfolio optimization techniques to their equity portfolios. Mr. Allen returned to Wilshire's Consulting Division to advise international investors and to head the firm's international manager research. In 1998, Mr. Allen moved to Europe and spent the next decade leading Wilshire's Private Markets Group asset management activities in the region. In this capacity, he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating private equity opportunities while serving on the Global Investment Committee. Mr. Allen returned to Los Angeles in 2008 as a Management Committee member of the Private Markets Group. Mr. Allen joined LA Capital in 2009.

Dan joined Los Angeles Capital Management in April of 2005. His specific focus is the construction and oversight of the firm's international equity strategies, in compliment to our domestic product offerings. Dan brings a level of knowledge and expertise which benefits the firm in its product development activities.
Formerly, Dan spent almost six years with First Quadrant, LP. As a research associate in the equity group at First Quadrant, Dan focused on asset-specific and industry modeling, factor research, and portfolio construction for US and international long-only and market-neutral strategies. He has developed broad investment knowledge through former roles in accounting as well as in equity, credit, and quantitative research. Dan is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, the CFA Institute, from which he received the CFA Charter in 2002, and the CAIA Association, from which he received the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation in 2008.

Iman currently assists Hal and Dave with L.A. Capital's research efforts. He is also responsible for conducting attribution, rebalancing, and monitoring portfolio performance. In addition, Iman is the lead project manager in creating an Emerging Markets quantitative strategy and is a member of the portfolio review committee.

Brad currently assists Tom, Hal, and Dave with L.A. Capital's research efforts. His responsibilities include factor research, evaluation of model performance, and data management. Brad is involved in evaluating the efficacy of factors currently used in the model as well as researching new factor ideas that might be considered in the future.
At the University of Wisconsin, Brad was a member of the Applied Securities Analysis Program.

Anthony joined Los Angeles Capital Management in July 2010 as a member of the Research group. He joined the firm after interning during the summer of 2009 and completing his MBA at UCLA Anderson. He assists with LA Capital's research efforts and is currently supporting Brad in the area of factor research and with the development of a global equity strategy. Anthony is a member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles and the CFA Institute, from which he received the CFA Charter in 2008.

Yuan joined Los Angeles Capital Management's research group in October of 2009. Yuan currently assists Tom, Hal, and Dave with L.A. Capital's research efforts. She is responsible for portfolio optimizations, testing strategies and assists in monitoring portfolio performance. She also works closely with the Portfolio Management and IT departments.
Previously, Yuan worked as a research assistant and contributed to several academic publications while obtaining her degree. She developed her research abilities in a wide range of quantitative finance, econometrics, and statistical analysis during her advanced study.

Justin assists with L.A. Capital's research efforts. In particular, he assists Dan in the construction of the firm's international equity strategies. Justin also is involved with the firm's currency hedging research.
Previously, Justin worked as a currency trader, where he was exposed to different quantitative analysis tools. This led him to pursue a Masters in Financial Engineering, and eventually a career in quantitative research.

Steve works with Dave Borger in the development of analytical systems which aid in the enhancement of existing models and in the research into new factors and means of factor expression. While at Wilshire, Steve was lead developer for Wilshire's Atlas product, a key component in L.A. Capital's analytic arsenal. He was responsible for the creation of an application programming interface (API) which has been incorporated into L.A. Capital's research platform.

Gene is currently working on integrating 3rd party software into L.A. Capital's operations. Sora develops real-time trading applications for intraday portfolio and market monitoring. She is also responsible for integrating LA Capital's main execution management system (EMS) to enhance trading decisions. In addition, Sora is currently building a data platform with analytics to support the research team.
Previously, Sora was responsible for supporting various EMS/OMS financial applications at Nuveen and was a primary database developer for Wilshire's iQuantum product for balanced funds.

Vincent joined Los Angeles Capital Management in March of 2010. He works closely with the Director of IT on the firm's communications and hardware infrastructure. Capital, Vincent worked in the support group for a hospitality IP based VOD company, NxSystems DBA NXTV. Prior to NxSystems, Vincent worked as an IT system admin for CalJava International.

As Director of Implementation, Christine oversees all portfolio management and rebalancing activity which includes working closely with the Director of Trading to effectively implement all elements of the trading and portfolio management process. In addition, she coordinates and supervises all portfolio transitions and assets transfers and serves as the chief liaison between our institutional clients and their custodial relationships. Christine was with L.A. Capital at its founding and became a principal in January of 2004. She also serves as a member of the Investment Management Committee.

Brad joined Los Angeles Capital Management in March of 2005. He works closely with the portfolio management and trading teams and is involved in all facets of the rebalancing and trading process including portfolio optimization, pre-trade cost and liquidity analysis, trade execution, and post-trade evaluation.
Previously, Brad worked with L.A. Capital's portfolio operations group where he assisted in account reconciliation, trade affirmation, performance measurement and client report preparation.

As L.A. Capital's Director of Portfolio Management, Ed is responsible for overseeing all portfolio management activities which include account set up and transitions, management of key portfolio parameters for optimization and trading, and portfolio monitoring. Ed chairs the Portfolio Review Committee and works closely with the Director of Research, Director of Trading and Chief Investment Officer to enhance the risk management and monitoring activities of the firm. Prior to joining L.A. Capital, Ed was Chief Investment Officer of Rhumbline Advisers where he was responsible for all aspects of their quantitative investment process.
From 1986 until 1994 Ed was a senior member of the analytics team at Wilshire Associates where he was responsible for Atlas, Wilshire's equity management and risk modeling software.

Laina joined Los Angeles Capital Management in June of 2007 as a member of the Portfolio Management group. After interning during the summer of 2006, she joined the firm full time upon completion of her MBA. She assists with all aspects of the portfolio management process including parameter testing, performance attribution, implementation, and monitoring client guidelines and security holdings. She works directly with Edwin Ek, the Director of Portfolio Management, and with members of the Trading, Research, and Operations teams.
Prior to joining Los Angeles Capital Management, Laina worked as a Research Assistant in the Investment Management Division of First Republic Bank. She has also completed the second level of the CFA program.

As a member of the Portfolio Management group, Kristin assists with all aspects of the portfolio management process including parameter testing, performance attribution, implementation, and monitoring client guidelines and security holdings. Chuck is a marketing officer for L.A. Capital Management, covering the north-eastern part of the United States as well as Europe. He also shares responsibility for calling on the pension consultant community. As a marketing officer for the firm, Chuck not only serves as a primary contact for clients and prospects but also interacts with the research, trading and operations teams.
Prior to joining L.A. Capital, Chuck was head of marketing for the Global Quantitative Research unit of Citigroup Investment Research. He was responsible for presenting the group's risk and stock selection models to a client base of money managers, plan sponsors and public funds. While at I/B/E/S, Inc., Mr. Morris was a senior sales executive, substantially increasing the firm's penetration in the New England region. He was also an integral part of the product development and marketing activities of the firm.
Prior to becoming a sales executive, Chuck worked as a quantitative analyst at First Boston and a credit analyst at Swiss Bank Corporation.

Lara is the west coast marketing director for Los Angeles Capital Management, covering the southern and western United States. She is responsible for business development with institutional investors including public and corporate pension plans, foundations and endowments, as well as investment consultants.
Prior to joining L.A. Capital, Lara was in sales and account management for StarMine Corporation, a quantitative equity analytics company. She was responsible for developing and growing business to the investment management community on the west coast. While at Tiburon Research Group, Lara was the Director of Operations and Business Development for the boutique, independent equity research firm.
Prior to TRG, Lara was at Thomson Financial (formerly Baseline) for over 5 years, focusing on equity analytics and portfolio analysis.
